The Civil Defense Survival Biscuit Lady

Do you know me? Send your tips to CONELARD attention Missing Persons Bureau
We will get the ball rolling with a personage whom we are so confident that we will never find we have chosen her picture as our official CONELRAD Missing Persons mascot. We have dubbed her "The Civil Defense Biscuit Lady" because of her playful pose in front of an official U.S. Government display of Civil Defense promotional material and shelter supplies including…Survival Biscuits. You will notice that our mascot in high heels appears to be enjoying said survival biscuit (they make a delicious non-emergency snack, too!). Like the mysterious JFK assassination figure "The Babushka Lady," the Civil Defense Biscuit Lady is an intriguing historical personality who, if found, will probably add very little to our understanding of history. But CONELRAD would still love to ask her about the stage direction she received in posing for the arresting photo that adorns this section of our site. Did the Government photographer say in a bureaucratic monotone: "A little more come hither"? "Show me preparedness, love"? The mind reels. So, if you or anyone you know recognize the Civil Defense Biscuit Lady, drop a dime to CONELRAD!
