History of the '50s Civil Defense Magazine Civil Defender

William C. Sturgeon is the only person to publish a national magazine devoted to the topic of Civil Defense during the Cold War. His Civil Defender ran from 1955 to 1957 and it is a treasure trove of information about the attitudes about surviving nuclear war during the middle of the Eisenhower years. CONELRAD was honored to be able to
interview him and look through the back catalog of the magazine in Mobile, Alabama.
