DEATH ON THE CHEAP: The Lost B Movies of Film Noir!

Death on the Cheap: The Lost B Movies of Film Noir! is the ideal book for the adventurous film noir fan who wants to branch out and see movies that are decidedly lower brow than the classics of the genre like DOUBLE INDEMNITY and KISS ME DEADLY, etc. Arthur Lyons's highly entertaining book is included here because it highlights several anti-commie film noirs including the certifiably great THE RED MENACE. Lyons describes this 1949 laugh riot as an "absolute must-see classic" and dubs it "the ATTACK OF THE 50-FOOT WOMAN of Red-scare films." We could not agree more.

Lyons also provides readers with invaluable advice on where to find these rare gems and that is something these types of film books seldom do a very good job of. Lyons' best tip in this regard is for readers to utilize Eddie Brandt's Saturday Matinee which, CONELRAD can attest, is the best video store in the world.
